I
have spent many years working 'all sides of the coin' -
from a large commercial photo studio in the 70's to the
wholesale/retail photo equipment sales sector in the 80's.
Despite my schooling and training in photography at Ryerson
Polytechnical, I found that during those 'working' years, I
grew further and further away until it became simply
'work'. Eventually I abandoned photography altogether.
So, after 20+ years, I felt it was time to resume my craft.
As it happens that day came on August 25, 1995. I remember
spending all that day perusing the shops for a suitable
camera and returning that night with my new found tool.
I've come full circle and after a very long hiatus I return
to renew an old friendship.
As I grow older I find that many of the 'familiar things'
in my life are either disappearing or passing on. The old
adage "life's too short" is simply no longer a string of
three insignificant words but instead has taken on another
meaning for me.
Finally, I would like to extend my sincerest thanks to all
those that have offered me technical guidance,
encouragement, and spiritual support throughout my
photographic endeavors. Where ever you may be, as close as
a 20 minute drive or 'thousands' of miles away, I shall
always be grateful.
